Growing Up

Emma has been going to an International preschool off-base since February 1st.
Korean schools expect much more from their children at a young age. They actually expect children around Emma's age to be able to read some words. Of course, Emma isnt there yet- but the changes I've seen in her education-wise have been big!
I think a lot of that is due to the fact that she attends school every weekday and not just two days a week like her previous preschool.
And while they are learning intensive- don't worry- they still have lots of fun activities at school too. Last week they had a Field Day, and a few weeks ago they took a field trip to see a musical!
They've been working hard at writing the letters of the alphabet, recognition and the sounds the letter makes. They even have a monthly homework packet they send home!
Here are some of her doodles from practicing her letters today...

And about a month ago, her drawings went from random scribbles to definable shapes!

It's a princess, her obsession.

Isnt it fun to grow up?
